Resetting the ECU with battery method

If u go about resetting the ECU by disconnecting the Battery for 10 minutes what should I know before doing it. And also what i have to do afterward except for leaving it 10 minutes to re-learn idle.

As long as the car is standard (no aftermarket stuff with codes and so on that might be lost) it is all as straightforward as you say. Make sure the windows are fully up first, if not they need a quick reset afterwards by holding the window switches in the fully up and then fully down positions to reset one touch function.
