Sensor replacement question.

Hi.

I'm new to the forum and have an issue with my 2014 1.4 D4D and would like a few pointers.

I had a P2463 code pop up and took my car to a DPF specialist for an EGR and DPF clean. The check engine light finally went away and then came back on after 50 miles of driving. I was told "If the light does come back on after a week or so then it might be a DPF sensor issue".  I have bought an aftermarket sensor and while waiting for it to be delivered I checked my current installed sensor and pipes to check any blockages and all seems ok.

My question is if I install my new DPF sensor, would I need to take my car's ECU to be programmed to recognise my new sensor?

Thanks in advance.

I replaced the DPF and the sensor on my 2.0 D4D without programming it. Your mechanic might know.
