The problem really starts when you’re my grandson’s age, 17, when he saw our new RAV he was straight into the drivers seat and reminded me that he did have a provisional driving licence and has been driving off road for years. 😄

I can just visualise him taking your nice, shiny, new RAV4 on a true off road spin. 😎

Tell your grandson:

1. Provisional driving licenses are not valid for automatics ... 😉
2. Finish your school, study hard and get a decent job
3. Work hard, to save money
4. Buy a second hand Aygo to really learn how to drive and keep a car in one piece
5. Keep working hard and saving money (lots!)

Maybe after a couple of years you have enough to buy yourself a RAV4.x and enjoy a fantastic Hybrid car with a range of almost 1000 Kms ...
That is, if they still sell Hybrids by that time

@Thermal, frankly trying to tell a grandson anything that age is a bit like talking to a door.  He’s very much involved with DoE and CCF so very active and already seems to have a life plan. He’s been having driving lessons on private roads for years so is already capable.  Some of the big show grounds have very complex roads systems (old RAF fighter/bomber sites) and have crossings, traffic lights the lot.

But I do like your list, especially number 6.
