Hi there, I have a 2011 Avensis 2.0 D4D.  It will start but at over 1000rpm it acts as if the rev limiter is cutting in. The garage has sent it to various engine and diagnostic centres who have said that the cause was contaminated diesel. This has now been drained and the system cleaned but no change.  It has had all new injectors, a full engine rebuild and a new fuel pump, still no change.  I am at the stage where I've spent about £3000 on it because I love the car and the chassis and body are in fantastic condition but think if no-one can help I will have to sell it for spares.

Can anyone help please!!

Hi.

Pls dont spend any more money on it before you found what's the issue. I know a lot about these engines but i have never heard of that issue. Have the mechanics try to scan it before for codes?

If the whole engine is rebuilt then its most likely a sensor causing the issue.
