Brakes On The 1.3sr

Hi,

My wife has recently bought a two and a half year old Yaris. It's absolutely great and we are both very happy with it!

I don't drive it very often, but I have noticed that the brake pedal seems to travel a way before it bites. I can't recall it being like that when I test drove it. The brakes seem to work fine, no warning lights, is this usual?

Just wondered what others thought!

:help::yes:

I've got a 2000 SR and I'm really impressed with the brakes. I was a bit worried when I saw the rear drums, but they seem very responsive, and stop the car well. You definitely don't have to press them down far to get them working.

I wouldn't think this is normal at all!

Wen sum1 else drives my car they always tell me how sharp the brakes are!

If its still in warranty i would think its best to take it down to Toyota 2 get them to give it the once over if its out of warranty take it 2 a cheaper local garage maybe!

HTH Cheers :thumbsup:

1 other thing mate, welcome to the club :group-cuddles:

If they're working fine though, it might just be a stretched cable or something - I'm just guessing though, not very tecchy!

Your brakes work on hydraulics and for the most part is self adjusting. If the pedal movement changes suddenly, its wise to check it out. I would suspect possibly air in the brake lines. ( check your brake fluid level).\the only cable in your brake sytem is for the handbrakes and will not therefore affect your pedal movement
