Dextron Atf

I just got the car back from the garage after having a new rad fitted.

Apparently the fan is hydraulic powered which shares the same fluid from the power steering. When we tried to top this up due to having to remove the fan we found that the Dextron which is what is recommended was not red.. but more of a Clear/browish colour and did not smell Like Dextron.

Does anyone have ideas what it could be in the system?

Steve,

P/S fluid can be brownish in colour. Some fluids are red if a colourant/dye has been added.

Fluid colour can also be affected by air blockages in system, usually turns a creamy colour.

Suggest you leave it standing overnight & check it again. If it's still not right, you may have an air blockage.
