Hi All,

When the dealer sent me a copy of the registration doc for my Launch Edition, I queried why it was classed as "orange" and not red.  Everyone I know has said it's Red, apart from one who said it's "orangey red".   Does it matter if the V5C (arrived today) has it described as orange when 9 out of 10 people would say it's red.

As long as the vin no`s are identical, ( car and V5) does it matter ?

Extract from Toyota Media:

"It maximises the specification and emphasises the car’s styling with a Tokyo Fusion Red and Eclipse Black Pearlescent bi-tone paint finish."

As long as the VIN details match, cannot see it matters.

On our bi tone i20 (grey/black) the V5C just refers to the colour as 'grey'.

The manufactures name is meaningless its original name is Vivid Coral, it looks like a dark orange maybe with a pink tone to me (think Blood Orange)

Tokyo Fusion Red (Vivid coral) is paint code 3U7 i have not looked up the colour formula to see how it made up yet

Wow... that's a complex make up.   Rather sadly I remember when Pearlescent paint was being developed (worked for ICI at the time).  I must admit I thought I would see more colours in the Tokyo Fusion, so it would look a slightly different colour if you looked at a different angles.

I just wanted to be sure that if it flashed up on a Police camera/PNC check I wouldn't get stopped because the colour didn't match.
