Hi, i am not a mechanically minded person, and have the car serviced from new at a main toyota garage, last service was one thousand miles before it failed the mot, told this would be replaced under warranty, but the other one is worn but would not replace ?due to not excessive movement, is this normal? because apparently this is a expensive job.

As I understand, so long as you continue having the car serviced at a  Toyota garage your warranty will exceed the 5 year warranty that originally came with the car, which means if the second pin/wears to the same point as the first it too will get replaced. The new warranty is called Relax, have you heard of it?

Thanks for replying, no i have not, my concern is if it fails after only 22k miles will this mean i can expect this problem to keep reoccurring , never expected this to be a problem , considering i drive very carefully, and would expect the parts mentioned to last a lot longer.

Re Relax, it’s been out couple weeks now, and been discussed on this forum, you should be able to find it.

Go to the top right of the page to the magnifying glass (search) and type in Relax, the item is currently the 4th down the list.

Cat lover, thankyou for the information, did not know that, still begs the question why such a short life on the part failed, and have they addressed this problem? thanks again for responding.
