Yaris 2012 stereo

Hi,

I have a 2012 Yaris in which the stereo with Sat nav does not switch on.  There was a penny inside the stereo which has shorted something i believe.

My question is that can a stereo from a 2014-2018 fit in a 2012 Yaris without needing anything extra?

If so, can I use the sat nav module from my 2012 stereo with the newer stereo.

The images from both stereos are attached.

Many Thanks in advance

0D020 is a Touch 12-14

0D180 is a Touch 2 14-18

the stereo surround is different you will need to modify it to fit, I'm unsure if the 2014> dash pad will fit the early cars if it does its a swap

The early Nav is different so will not fit

Does your 0D020 have the Nav module  (they all have the nav button)

Hi,

Yes, my stereo has the sat nav module.

Are the plug connections the same as on the back of my OD020 stereo please?

Please explain if it's easy to modify the surround trim?

Many Thanks in advance.

Many Thanks.

I assume the rear camera will work with the new stereo too, the touch 2.

One more question please.

Will the stereo from a 2020 model fit and work please in my Yaris 2012? a 86140-0D400?

Many Thanks

yes, the 0D400 will work - same as before it may not fit the dash pad you either need to trim the surround/dash pad or fit the 2014 on dash pad, I'm unsure if it will fit the early gen 3 tho

ps. the OD400 is late 2017 to 05/2020

Hi,

Had the 0d280 delivering today.

The radio is working fine, but will need a dab aerial.

There was one plug left over which does not fit. I assue it's the rear camera as that does not work.

Any instructions please on how to modify the wiring for the rear camera?

Many Thanks

The Dab connector is a Toyota specific plug, but you can use an SMB (Female) Dab Aerial it just doesn't lock in place

Thanks for your reply.

Attached are photos from my car.

What is the small plug in the car please with a single wire?  Looks like an aerial?

What's the best way to connect the wires fro the plug to the stereo please?  Are there any special connectors availale please?

Many Thanks for all your help.

The aerial is the old GPS aerial

16 pin black plug, you have a few options

de-pin the connector and put them into a 24 pin plug

leave the 16 pin plug and splice into the wires to add a 24 pin plug

or chop the plug off and wire a 24 pin plug
