Hello everyone i need a suggestion from you urgent,  im new here i hope you guys fine, i have 1.3 Toyota yaris 2008 hatchback silver color, its a nice small car easy to drive easy to park, since few day my car ac not working some time working sometimes not working, i went to mechanic he told me compressor problem if there is any black oil coming you need to change condenser also, and he suggests me to take 1.3 corolla pistin compressor not the sensor one, so my question is to you guys please suggest me about old corolla 1.3 compressor to 1.3 yaris compressor i can change? And what are the reason behind my ac compressor not working? Thanks in advance.

In my Mk2 I found the AC would only work kick in if the engine was doing >3000rpm - Dealer suggested the clutch was failing, but as it was internal it couldn't be replaced like on most AC compressors, and the whole compressor would need to be replaced at staggering cost.

Still don't know if they were BS'ing me, frankly I'd lost all confidence in their ability by then, and in any case that was the final straw that broke the proverbial camel.

In your case, if you can confirm it's the compressor, you can probably get one from a breakers yard or a pattern part for a lot less money, but I get the impression the AC system in the Mk2 isn't all that robust, esp. if it's left ungassed for a long time.

It's a very different car, much bigger, higher spec. Don't know about the reliability. Must admit I never liked the back of those tho'. Better to read Parkers.co.uk and HonestJohn.co.uk - They give lots of info and reviews. Good sites.
