Hi everyone only just joined as I have been having problems with my 2009 Toyota Yaris semi auto MMT. The car has done around 30-36k miles was running perfectly fine but now will not go into gear just keeps flashing in N had rac out who connected it to a computer  which come up with an error code  P0900checked around what it could be and found a company on eBay that stated if it comes with this error code will be your clutch actuator so sent it out got it back and they said that it was faulty got it put back on car same problem then was told by the gearbox specialist could be the gearbox actuator ended up getting one that was refurbed put it on same problem now he is saying it might be the ecu not too sure what to do or if anyone else has had this problem kind of stuck as the cars been off the road for around 3-4 months cannot really afford to send it out to Toyota as I’m sure will be very expensive ended up sending the ecu off but the company ecu testing said they don’t have the machines to check it and sent it back also if I was to buy another ecu same code would it be plug and play or does it need to be coded also now there is no codes coming up on the car

hope someone can help will be much appreciated

thanks

  • 4 weeks later...

Hi all,

just to provide an update on the issue of my MMT. It’s taken me over a week and being very patient. The gearshift lever actuator and ECU had to be repaired.

All is good so far and car runs fine.

I think the ECU issue could have been caused by me jumpering the wires and perhaps cross them. Not sure but it is possible.

I checked the clutch actuator by removing the motor and found this was burned. Not sure why ECU said it was ok, but this could have been caused by me when I put it back perhaps?

Anyway, the long and short of this complex system is if you have a problem everything need to be checked and you MUST clamp the system before removing anything.

hope this helps and thank you to all those who supported.
