Bad phone connection

I have just purchased a Corolla design saloon. After setting up the in car media, I am having trouble with my phone as no one can hear me due to bad back ground noise. I have disconnected and then re-connected it, with no joy. I have then tried Android Auto, which apparently has improved slightly but not as clear when just talking on the phone. Please can anyone advise on how to resolve this issue.

is this whilst stationary or whilst driving?

Both, whilst driving and stationary with engine on

I had a similar issue on my Corolla no one could hear me, the Toyota dealer reset the telematics box in the car which sorted it. Does the internal emergency sos box light up near the internal car lights when starting car, mine didn’t which was linked to same issue

I can’t say I have noticed the sos book light coming on. I will book the car in, hopefully they can resolve it. I will mention it in passing as I know mechanics don’t like being told what is wrong. Thank you for your reply.
