Uninsured driver hits Aygo - parts needed

Hi all,

First post to you guys and in need of assistance.

20yr old son (2010 Aygo Blue 8U7) has been hit by an uninsured driver and is in need of parts so we can repair economically without the need for it being written off or needing to go to the body shop.

We need

  • Front bumper
  • Driver side wing
  • Drivers side door
  • Rear drivers side door

The paint code of the car is 8U7 which I believe is Electa Blue but I have also seen it referred to as Cayman blue - is it the same colour?

Also, does anyone know of similar car being dismantled? I'm trawling eBay to find parts which do appear to be available but I'm hoping I can find them all in one place, check them over and buy to swap over and avoid any costly painting work.

Thanks for reading any help appreciated.

Irrespective of the names of colours, you just need to go by the colour code - ie 8U7.

Has it been sideswiped or hit side on

it will not look 100% correct with swapped parts as it's a metallic colour, plus there is no telling if there is hidden damage like hinges or damage to the A/B pillars

Respray costs your looking about £120-150 per panel.

used parts - £280-400

"Aygo breaking" brings up a few (ask the seller for the paint code)

Great thank guys.

Slow impact but the momentum of his car meant the other car scraped all the way down the side. Hinges, pillars etc look OK.

Bumper should just need paint, the rear door could be pulled (maybe PDR) front door is a marginal repair if It's not badly gouged, the wing is done for

Heat the rub strips and pull them off

I would of called the Police. They would then had it towed away. Just imagine if the uninsured driver had hit a child or pedestrian. Uninsured drivers are a menace. Hope you get your car fixed. If uninsured person has a job, take them to court.

James.

Thanks all for you kindness and advice.
Uninsured driver reported to the police and we are going to repair ourselves and then chase the driver in the small claims court of costs.
