Auris SR180 Polybushes or regular bushes

Hey everyone!

Anyone have any experience with the SR180 and polybushes of any kind? I'm looking to pretty much completely replace all bushings in my front and rear suspension and control arms. Would anyone recommend them, or do people prefer the feeling of traditional rubber bushings?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Any tips for changing any of them?

Thank you!

Don't have them on my auris but I did swap out to poly bushes when they'd worn out on my Leon (strut top mounts & dog bone engine mount)and they felt great. Purple road series Powerflex so hard but not too hard. Is the suspension standard at the moment or have you changed springs or anything already?

Suspension is currently stock, how was the ride difference between a stock Leon and stock sr180? The ride is relatively rough anyway and I don’t want it to feel too rigid?

thank you!

Cant comment on the SR180 as I know the suspension on my TR is different (pretty sure the SR180 ride height is lower and stiffer on TRD springs?). Coming from my Leon the ride in my Auris felt like I was in a tractor! Far too high and spongy for my liking, first job I did was getting Eibach 35mm sports springs all round on stock struts and it improved the ride so much.

With your comment on the ride being rough already I'd imagine poly bushes would only make that worse. Your car will (presumably) be running on 17"s? Mines 16" so that extra inch of tyre means the ride will be softer for me. I'd imagine if you did go ahead it will feel great cornering in and out of smooth roads but if it's anywhere near as rough where you live like it is for me here it will be uncomfortable for most journeys.

Potholes and things are pretty terrible where I live, I’d definitely like improved handling, but if it is going to be hugely outweighed by deadly vibrations I think I might pass!

would you recommend eibach springs before poly bushes then?

thank you!

Yeah, although the difference from my original springs would be more pronounced than the change it would make to yours, my car had right ‘wobblers’ to begin with 🙂
