Hi all started playing  up this morn 

Park brake went on OK then lights on dash came on 

Then when releases it took ages to wind off turned ignition off/on lights went out handbrake worked a few times then lights back on then releases rearly slowly

Look at other factors before put full blame on the EPB actuator unit. First port of call is the caliper sliders seizing and if the brake pad/discss have been replaced recently? A sticking or seized caliper sliders will put a strain on the EPB actuator. I mention change of brake pads, because I have come across problems when the pistons have not been wound back so the nipples on the back of the brake pads, sit within the cutouts of the pistons. This will cause the inner brake pads to wear at an angle or the piston to be skewed, jamming it. Simple in inspection or dismantling can check these. 
Another issue can be a below par Battery. Since I replaced my Battery over a year ago, my car has had no issues of any kind.

Finally if possible, get a diagnostics check to see if any fault codes are stored.
