Avensis 2012 2.0 d4d rear demister not working

Hi All,

My rear demister button turns on but does not seem to do anything. What could this be please?

First check the fuse. If you check your manual, the fuse is rated at 40amp. You will need to remove the glovebox to access that fuse, as shownin the following images.
  

If the fuse is okay, then depending on if the car is saloon or estate, the connections and the condition of the element needs to be checked. An auto elctrician can check for you. 

On a side note, we are in summer with rain. If there is a lot of condensation, check the boot area, spare wheel well, as well as the sides behind the arches, below the lights, to see if there are puddles of water hiding under the storage floor. 

In the mean time, if the air-con works, use that to draw the moisture out of the cabin. Or crack the rear window open to draw air through.
