Hi guys

trying to figure out what happened.

i have a 2020 toyota corolla with touch and go 2. the speed cameras were showing up until recently when i think an navigation or map upgrade happened and the speed cameras are no longer showing, unless you connect your iPhone or coyote app.

any ideas as i really need to get the speed camera on map again?

Regards

M

I am having the same trouble, speed cameras have disappeared after OTA map update.

They only came back for me after doing the full flash drive update

The cameras only seem to appear when the car is getting an internet connection. I have had to disable Wi-Fi to reliable connect via bluetooth mobile data.  I’m not sure when this changed but if the car tries to connect via Wi-Fi and fails it then seems to be very reluctant to change to bluetooth although phone and music seem ok.

Yea, there is a serious timeout issue on the network connection,  which to be honest is pretty shoddy coding.

All they need to do is increase this, and also add in a recovery/retry option.

I find that literally every time, I need to enable Toyota online, which is painfully slow to respond.

Hence the timeout, despite having a permanent hotspot in the car

I just use Android Auto with tomtom instead, far superior music file management and mapping.

Ref my last post: Since switching off the wifi connection and just using a hotspot via bluetooth the connection seems to be pretty reliable.  I get the failed to download message and then a good hotspot connection with all the online data available.

I downloaded the update to a USB stick and updated maps that way instead of OTA. This worked as speed camera are back. Took ages though.

I have done the same.  However speed camera alerts only work when the car is connected to my mobile phone via bluetooth.

Click on purchases, select the map update and should give you option to download to USB.

Hi, Does anyone know how to download to USB if you already purchased it? I have free years free updates and it says "You have already bought this product". I guess I can download over Internet in the car, OTA, but that is what caused the problem from the beginning...

Does anyone know if "2021 v2 Map Update" over OTA takes care of the problem? That I can do in the car as it seems it was 2021 v1 that caused the problem.

Go back to 'Purchases' on the Toyota site, and download to USB again (to your laptop/computer), then copy the downloaded folder to your USB.

Thanks - managed to download. Won´t install when installing the USB stick to the port in the car. Seems it´s reading from USB but nothing happened in 20 minutes. Do you know if content should be in FMU folder or in the root on the USB?

There should be content in the FMU folder i.e. the ISO files and check-file. First step is to make sure your USB stick is completely empty of files and folders.  You need to either drag the folder FMU containing the 5 files onto your USB or create a new folder called FMU on the USB and then move/copy the individual files into it.  The validation process is looking for the FMU folder, if it can't see it or it's called something else expect a failure.  Validation took about 2 minutes before it asked for my code to proceed.
