Hello all,

I just bought a used Yaris Hybrid 2015 but unfortunately the bluetooth doesn’t work, its grayed out and can’t be pressed same as phone option.
some told me that If I update the software it could work,

did anyone had the same problem? What is the solution? And where can I get the software update?
thanks

That's more likely to be an actual fault. It should just work in a 2015 car without needing an update. Since you are now outside the 5 year warranty period, it may cost to get it fixed. Perhaps the options in whatever country you are in differ from the UK so it may not be standard where you are?

I am in Jordan, and unfortunately Toyota service here is not that good especially with Yaris, I got this Yaris from Europe and here they don’t know how to fix it.
any ideas?

1. is it turned on in the settings

2. you need to pair a device

3. as per PM its on the very early firmware/software there are known bluetooth and mp3 issues

as per pm its likely greyed out as you do not have the factory mic

Yup! That would surely prevent the connection software from working since it would be useless without the mic.

I will check the microphone, but I am not sure if I am able to do it my self, i will open it and check the cables, how would I know which cable is for the microphone from the screen back?

Yesterday I removed the display and checked if all cables are plugged in then I checked for the microphone and all cables are in. Is there a way to check if the microphone works or not? To make sure that the Bluetooth problem is because of it?

The white single plug is for the GPS aerial

pic 2 and 3 is the microphone - the wires should go to the 28 pin connector, you can check this with a meter

it is wired correctly

the 24 and 28 pin connectors don't look like they are plugged in all the way - unplug them and plug them back in they can be a little tight

How do I know which are 24 and 28 connector? I saw your post which you tagged above but I didn’t understand how did u recognize the pin numbers?
I will open it again tomorrow, but I am searching for a way to test the microphone, to avoid buying a new one for nothing.

and yes the audio controls works fine on the wheel. Maybe it had the sat nav but I think that it have no harm to be without it. I dont use navigation so often. Just the bluetooth problem is killing me.

Hey. You can go under a secret menu and check if ur mic works.  I'm not sure if u have the same head unit as this one in the video

You can also try to reset the it

Not quite the same

Hold the car button and turn the lights on and off 3 times - press function check (second item in the list) - microphone

You only get the menu in the above video if you have Sat Nav
