Clunk from front of car after 30 m once a day after pulling off drive. 2006 Avensis 1.8 Auto

Hi  everyone,

The title says it all really.

Aware  I am driving a 16 year old car. It has only done 66K, though.

As stated I can hear a clunk after 30m of driving on my first drive of the morning - and then nothing for the rest of the day. Then the following day, just this one "clunk" and then nothing  and so on.

The car appears to be in great condition  and drives well  and  I had new brake pads all round recently and I had asked the mechanic to check the underside of the car at the same time  and he came back and said he saw nothing  untoward.

 

Any idea anyone - on another site someone had mentioned an automatic ABS check?
