Retrofit aftermarket Eagle Eyes DRL

Hi guys !

In the past days I put in opera an idea of Eagle Eyes DRL, these are some COB mini projector, less than 1.5 W each. They can be very easy fitted in any configuration, in any place, making a 10 mm hole. The essential requirement is the voltage, that has not exceed 12 V, but the car's voltage, when running is about 13.5 ... 14 V. I personally used a step down converter, with an adjustable output and the desired voltage is about 10 V, this gives to the LEDs power enough to light stable, for long time...

I fitted these DRLs to another car of mine, not my Auris, because Auris has DRL on high beam, fitted 8 ... 9 years ago; very reliable sistem, too.

These eagle eye DRLs can be fitted at any car, you need a IG+ 12 V that can be taken from gear box reverse switch, and a parking light + and - 12 V for deactivation DRL relay.

For any of your questions I'm happy to answer.

I’ve had experience of fitting proper aftermarket DRL’s to a Vauxhall Astra I once owned. I fitted rectangular DRL’s in the front bumper. The DRL’s I purchased from Halfords in the UK and they were made by Ring Automotive. They looked factory fitted by the time I’d done, and I got asked on several occasions while out and about (even had a note left under my wiper on one occasion!) asking me who fitted them and where I’d got them from. I did a nice install. I’ll try and find a photo…..

I fitted them myself because I had a dark green Vauxhall Astra and it was difficult to be seen on countryside roads in winter on my commute to Nottingham. People pulled out in front of me on many occasions (I live out in the sticks) because it blended in so well with the greenery. The DRL’s were definitely to be seen, not to see. A massive safety plus 👍🏻

My Auris has DRL’s factory fitted. It also have full LED headlights. Auris Excel hybrid hatchback (2016).

The advantage of these LEDs is easiness of installing without damaging the bumper or grill, simplicity of changing them one or all, long lifespan, UV resistance, good looking, etc.
