Hello everyone,  it's a good idea to start using v power? Or there is no point? How many miles do you get guys from a full tank? Short journeys I was surprised to see 29 mpg after 5 miles, it's that normal? Thanks.

Depends what you want.

Think any fuel savings will be minimal, if any. Shell are now selling V-Power Nitro on offering slightly more power (up to 4%) and keeping the engine cleaner.

Most super unleaded petrols offer better packages of additives than standard unleaded.

I remember Top Gear (or Fifth Gear) doing real world tests on high octane fuel 98 versus standard 95 octane, and the performance benefits were negligible / undetectable (unless you had a high performance sports car). Fuel is expensive enough as it is. Why pay more if you aren’t going to get any benefit?

95 regular petrol and from time to time wynns injector cleaner and the engine works well.

The 5th Gear test was back in 2005, so probably not relevant in 2021 with changes in fuel formulation, etc. Shell's power increase claims for their current fuel are 'up to 4%' - so probably not noticeable to the driver - but the main emphasis is on the better engine cleaning properties.

Aside from that, with the introduction of E10 unleaded in September, there is a fairly widespread belief that this fuel will give slightly less mpg than E5. Super unleaded will remain at E5, so in September there may be a small improvement in mpg by using super unleaded as opposed to unleaded.
