Bad engine mounts? Video included

Hey people

Would you say that my engine mounts are bad? The car kangaroos when the throttle is let off / applied, especially noticeable with AC on (I guess there's more drag). This is what it looks like in the engine bay when revved in first gear and clutch partially let out. I've booked it in for Mr. T, but it'd be nice to hear what you people think first. Thank you!

Yep, possibly the lower dog bone and/or the driver's side mount

It definitely looks like it. How can it be? The car is from 2015, so around 5.5 years old at around 45k miles. Seems a little early, but I guess it's not possible to argue with a car!

Looks like the engine mounts. My engine (2002 car) has the same problem but its not as bad as yours. I have read somewhere that over-revving the gears and improper use of the clutch can cause serious damage to your engine mounts. The other options are fluid leaks, weather conditions, car accidents.

Young or new driver ??

Previous owners were middle aged, and the clutch seems perfectly fine. However, the car has seen many short trips and loads of start / stop traffic. I imagine this is where it may stem from.

Yeah, I’ll be sure to have Toyota look at it. The car seems to run and drive fine, except for the kangarooing when going on and off the throttle. Has seen a lot of stop and start traffic with its previous ownerd, so could be the reason.

Hi, + 1 for engine mounts. Salt and grit also helps rubber parts to deteriorate faster than usual and we have a lots of that during winter months in Uk. Sometimes the rubber it’s not cut broken but softened to the point that it’s not able to hold the engine as it’s should. 👍
