Edinburgh?

In a couple of weeks we have four nights in Edinburgh.

What should we go see?

Obviously The Castle.

The High Street (Royal Mile)

Princes Street Gardens.

The museum in Chambers Street is free and it's a good place to go on a wet day.

Holyrood Park. 

Botanic Gardens. 

Portobello beach.

South Queensferry and the bridges over the River Forth are worth seeing  

Go to North Berwick for a day. Follow the coast from Portobello and you'll be there in an hour. 

What part of Edinburgh will you be staying in?

Agree about North Berwick....worthy of anyone's time and effort to go visit and a nice change from the city.

We are in the centre, Grassmarket.    Don't have long there so just looking for ideas.

Greyfriars Bobby is just 100mts from The Grassmarket.  As is Greyfriars churchyard, they are both worth seeing.  But don't rub Bobby's nose, it won't bring you luck. 

St Giles Cathedral is on The Royal Mile, just walk up Victoria Street from the Grassmarket and you are almost there.  

On the ground outside the Cathedral you will see The Heart of Midlothian, it will bring you luck if you spit on it, I always do.
