Right after coming back from hols its time to get some wheels

Before I do, please can ya let me know what size tyres etc. I should be looking for:

I'm on standard suspension, and so should not have to worry about rubbing..

205/40/17 seem to be the most popular tyres, so are these the ones to go for??

Also what else should I take into consideration... the pcd (is it 100?) the offset? I dont fully understand it all!

Cheers guys n gals

Matt

If your on standard suspension then no worries with 205/40/17's Lowering it causes lots of trouble and you will need to do some work on the arch lips.

17's look cool but they make the car tram line realy badly and make plenty more tyre noise.

They dont make the ride any worse though which suprised me. Depends how many miles you do, if you only do a few it wont be a problem but i do loads so i decided against lowering.

the offset should be et35 4*100. 205/40r17's are dead on ours was dropped 40ml on 17's and was fine. did take some arch work though.

i do have the 17's for sale if anyones interested their fox 5 spokes 4 months old lookin 400 for them

Would having an offset of et40 rather than 38 make much difference?

Surely 2mm further sticking out/in (I dunno!) is too small to notice?

In my experience run 7x17" on 40mm offset. if you can afford it go for a 195/40 17" tire (only Pirelli I think) and you wont have any rubbing probs. I went for 35mm with 205 and had to o a lot of arch work to stop it rubbing.
