T27 or T270?

In this forum, I see the third generation Avensis is known as T27, but elsewhere I have seen it referred to as T270 (Wikipedia for example). Which is correct, or are they both acceptable?

In the UK it is commonly known as the T27.

Ahaha, I read that as T72 and thought this was about the tank

They are called T270 and Toyota themselfes call them T270 but over the years people just call them T27

it's really T27x series as ADT270/271 & ZRT270, 271 & T272 exist. For many generic things parts are shared so it's easy just to say T27 ...
