Sat nav inaccurate

Me and my partner purchased a 2020 CHR, the sat nav seems to be not very accurate when you type a post code in, sometimes 500m or so out.

Does it need an update already??

Do you have Apple Car play available ? If so have you tried Waze? We use It in preference to the installed Toyota sat nav due to the additional live information available and prefer the visual display and not had a problem with locations (but I’m sure someone may have a different experience).

If a dealer of any sort, take it back and explain the problem for them to fix.

Bit more difficult if you bought privately.

yes i  will ask dealer but in my experience most dealers dont there bottom from the elbow with this kind of stuff, so i hoped to ask the guys in the know.

When using the post code are you adding anything more e.g road name or house number? as the post code alone will work but the car will route to the central point of the post code.

What version of maps & software are installed?

My 2020 Corolla has had two map updates.  New my road and post code were not in the map.  After the Autumn one my post code worked.

Go to Mytoyota.co.uk

Post code only can be a range of houses. My post code covers 30 houses!

Add street and house number or POI and it will take you straight there.

Use myToyota to establish if you have latest map installed.
