This was fast. Congrats 👍

p.s

Someone of toyota should explain too me very nicely why i need to wait for the car 1 year. I understand i,live in the small country but still. If i order the car in december,i should receive it before someone that ordered in april. Im more and more wtf. Sorry for complaining.

If it came in 7 weeks it’s probably a cancelled order.  A friend of mine got his in two days by accepting a demonstrator that no longer had a current spec.   Yours will probably come sooner but they give you the worst case because so many get emotive about them slipping back.

I hope you are right. I contacted the dealer but of course nothing to report. Will try to lower the hype and pray for more quick delivery

Good news from my dealer today, car has arrived and I pick up Thurs 30th March 7 weeks from placing my order to pick up, no added extras, much better than some marques I looked at ranging from 14 weeks to 52 weeks, happy days 😊

That's good news indeed, as said before must be a cancelled order. Ordered mine on 3rd of Feb, was told May/June del & still have nothing but an order number as yet!

I’m not sure what you expect.  Do you want a phone call every week to tell you nothings changed?   The trouble with our entitled culture is that the BBC will have you believe that Boris is responsible for everything but if we could stop being selfish over things like cars, people in China are dying from Covid - yes, they’re being ravaged by it and parts and semi conductors are still in very short supply.  Damn Matt Hancock for that.  Now in answer to your question in a sensible manner, Toyota want paying for the car you’ve ordered and they’ll get it to you as fast as they can.  They try and predict delivery dates as best as possible but then a supplier goes down and things slip.  Not much they can do and it’s frustrating but be patient and it’ll turn up.

All this is nice and (partly) true , except when later orders  gets delivered and yours is being pushed back every month 🤷‍♂️ how would anybody explain that ?

I’d be interested to know why you think it happens.  It certainly does happen that some come forward and some slip back but why do you suppose that is?

It does seem a bit pot luck; I assume some people are getting lucky being matched up with cancellations, while the rest are stuck waiting in the build queue!

I am wondering what the state of things is at the moment as the news has been its usual uninformative self - Is there still a chip shortage? Where are the bottlenecks in the supply chain now??

Yes, very much a chip shortage and particularly in the far east Covid is shutting factories.   Many components and control units are made out there too.  I’m waiting 12 to 16 weeks for a dishwasher.  Again, the supplier told me that was the case and I won’t pressure him at all.  He’ll get it to me as quickly as he can, he wants his money and so do Neff.  I also don’t want some Chinese or Taiwanese worker dragging into a factory where Covid is rife and the hospital is full just like it was here.  It’s an appliance and let’s be honest, so is a Yaris.  I can live without either.

Well , that’s the million dollar question , isn’t it ?!  But I just can’t see why if they are able to build a specific car (spec , engine, etc) why are fulfilling a later order and leave behind an older one ?

The initial conversation was that maybe higher spec cars are coming through slower … but that is not the case as here on the forum people are reporting getting similar spec but later ordered ones 🤷‍♂️

What they can build is dependent on what they can get and if they can’t get those little blanking plugs for the lower spec models but they can get the switches that fill the blanks in the higher spec, the higher spec ones will roll out.  If there is one washer or one semiconductor for a control module short, they can’t build it so there is a constant ebbing and flowing of what can be built.  They then go from Onnaing to Zebrugge by boat and the French socialists are doing what they can to disrupt transport, then they wait on the dock for the first boat.  The quickest is the Sea Cruiser 2 which flirts back and too between Zeebrugge and Grimsby but the big boat from Japan will also pick up and drop off at Portbury (Bristol).  Some also come through the tunnel by train.  All locations then truck to Burnaston for onward transport to the dealer.  They do this because a dealer will order all different vehicles and they can load them for one delivery.  Customers don’t realise that accessories are fitted at Burnaston so even a set of mudflaps will put it in a queue there.  There’s a national shortage of truck drivers which the media can cause panic over on a dry news day so getting them to the final destination can be a challenge.  In other words there are a plethora of reasons why they overtake each other but what gets me is how indignant people can be.  It’s like an affront to their human rights in some way.  There are people dying in China but one person here is insulted when his Excel turns up before my Icon.

A lot of explanation - zero sense 🤷‍♂️

2 exactly same spec orders …. One ordered in May , the other one in August.

August order delivered first 🤷‍♂️

You can talk about Covid , transport , shipment whatever you want - this has absolutely no logical explanation

There’s a reason for everything.  Are they the same colour with the same spec and same accessories.  Are they coming on the same transport to the same dealer?   It only takes one variable to alter the dates.  If it makes no sense you clearly know nothing about car production.

I’ve been told mine’s expected by the end of April, but , judging by some on here it might not be the case, I ordered excel with city pack, mainly for swimbo, as she’s a bit concerned about driving an auto, so anything that can help, ( surround camera, wavy lines on the reverse cam) , is a bonus, we don’t use sat nav that often, mainly on our yearly holiday “ darn sarf “ 🤭, so I’m sure it’s good enough for that, incidentally, some pumas being transported by rail caught fire, last year. Hope this doesn’t happen with Toyota….

Don't be too concerned by the scaremongering on here, if they told you end of the month it probably will but you should be able to find some sort of progress on the app or the website by now.

They lost a ship full of cars and the ship last year on the way to the US and the were a lot more expensive than the Pumas.

Confucius say, “ if that you seek cannot be found, then give up and ask on here”,..if I go to Toyota uk I can find all their info, except how my car is progressing, where is this fabled information to be found, ?, does it say “ here be dragons “, and I can go no further?, or do I not have sufficient security clearance?…

After carrying molten cauldron and walking on rice paper, go to “My Account” where all will be revieled (crikey I wish I hadn’t got’n into this!!!).  It’s on the top of the page, log in using your email address you gave when you ordered said treasure.

Oh and by the way if you’ve got a windows computer or firefox on iOS, you can go really deep.

Hi everyone, just received a further update on MyT app regarding my new YC. It has now arrived at Grimsby. I am going to ask how long people have to wait on average from vehicle arriving at Grimsby to actually arriving at the dealers? I am in the Midlands so imagine that there are more dealers in this area so can I assume that delivery will be quicker?

Alas , the crystal ball mists do not clear and consulting the runes offered no clarity, the wise ones who manifest themselves as the keepers of the Toyota account, will not let me progress further despite my offerings of my user name and password, I must go and offer suitable sacrifice to the Toyota gods….

I tried, even checking I had the correct username and password, and all seems correct, I guess I’ll just keep checking the app

Finally after 13 months of waiting I received a call from the dealer that the car will be manufactured this month and next month I will be able to pick up the car.

It’s better on the website if you can sort out what’s wrong because you can view progress in much greater detail.  You’re definitely using the email you used when you ordered the car?   You might need to register.
