Okay, so the process is Received into country -> PDI -> Delivery to Dealer -> Addons Installed -> Delivery ? That makes sense, In which case From Delivery into the UK (8th June) to est. Delivery (12th July) is about a month. Ref the notice I got the order was being built to the order was in the country was around 3 weeks for me I think - I'd have to double check my timeline to confirm, its in this thread somewhere lol

Looks like mines next week, it’s showing on way to dealership but it’s likely still at derby, the only extras I ordered are city pack, which I assume is done when being built, I’ve ordered it with paint and fabric protection which I assume is done at the dealers, so not sure what the holdup is, probably volume of cars being delivered

The timeline for my car was as follows, ordered 26. 04.23 processed 31.05.23

Build 06.06.23 in transit 09.06.23 arrived dealer 26.06.23 collected 30.06.23.

So I don’t believe this was a cancelled order because of the time from ordering to build being started.

I think so too.  They are in the main getting quicker but it will be interesting to see when some of the options reappear.  An incentive to move to a facelift or revision might be an opportunity.   There’s a new engine and different Battery technology that we know of.

This may be wrong but I was surprised to see a local advert for a dealer offering £1500 PCP contribution. As far as I know £1500 was never a figure being offered. So had a look on Toyota website to see if things have changed - it's a toss up between £600 or 'no current offers' or "offers being updated' depending on where you look on Toyotas website. It's probable the local dealer advert is inaccurate or out-of-date.

Couple of things in T&C did grab my attention tho. The first:

"Advertised finance offer is available on Personal Contract Purchase on the vehicle specified in this quote when financed between 04/07/2023 and 13/12/2023 through Toyota Financial Services and registered by 13/12/2023 at participating Centres."

That wasn't the case before, I think they've changed the wordng. The wording was 'cars ordered between...'  This now implies Toyota can change the PCP deposit at anytime and they're sod all you can do about it.

And something else new ( I've cetrainly never seen this before' which relates to Anchorman's post above:

" PRICE & OFFER PROTECTION - We will commit to honouring the list price of your vehicle (including delivery) at the point of order for all current generation supply. If an order is to be fulfilled by a New Generation or Minor Change model (this relates to a significant engine & specification upgrade) additional costs may apply. At point of order fulfilment notification, customers may confirm or cancel their order should additional costs apply.

I'm one of these sad soles who does read the T&C smallprint before I make a purchase and again, I cannot recall ever seeing wording to this effect. My legal head is asking to define what a 'significant' specification upgrade is. One thing is for certain, if there's a 'significant' downgrade in spec,  Toyota won't charge you less. 😁

Yep, it has changed so buyers beware!

Managed to find the previous wording:

Terms & Conditions: Model shown is MY23 Yaris Cross Excel 1.5 VVT-i Auto FWD £30,045 including optional Pearlescent paint at £920. Prices correct at time of being published. *8.4% APR Representative and £1,750 Finance Deposit Allowance only available on new retail orders of Yaris Cross between 4th April 2023 and 3rd July 2023 and registered and financed through Toyota Financial Services by 13th December 2023 on a 42 month AccessToyota (PCP) plan with 0%-35% deposit.

See the change of wording?  Excuse my language, but the Sneaking little **** that they are. If the new wording had been in place when I placed my order, basically I wouldn't have placed it. Knocking £1150 or even the whole £1750 off the deal you signed up to?  TBH I'm not sure they're legally able to do that.

Obviously is something Toyota finance have done very recently. Will be interesting to see if they try to back out of the deal I signed up to when ordering the car.

My cross has been sat in derby for about two weeks now, what are they doing?, I can only think that, as it’s having a paint protection application, it’s done by young, nubile virgins, and they’re scouring the four corners of Derbyshire for such creatures, maybe that’s it, they’ve asked directions at the unicorn farm , and dug up the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow to pay for their services, right now, I’d settle for Chantelle or Brittney to do it just to get my car….

Paint protection is normally done at the dealership.

It's probably in a vast queue.

If there is definitely no extras of any sort then it’s waiting to make up an order for your dealer.  All models go to Derby now so they can satisfy an entire dealer order.  If hypothetically, they are short of 2 Corolllas, that would fill the transporter and they are nearing completion, you’ll have to wait.  It’s frustrating for you but good for the Corolla buyers.  It makes sense with transport costs so high.

I ordered on 14/06, the order says expect 21/7, but the dealer says it should arrive around mid-August or September.

They’re on the move when they flirt about.  It’ll pop up at Grimsby when Sea Cruiser 2 docks.

So after getting my CHR stolen , Wife settled on a Yaris cross Excel ( The Kick eclectic boot  got her)

So Ordered excel in white no extras while in the dealership but never got round to signing the paperwork or paying a deposit  10/6/23

Paperwork signed and deposit paid 16/6/23  was told delivery expected October maybe September.

Was happy with those dates but got a call from the dealership on Monday evening saying that he has good news and he can see that my cars due in on the 25/7/23

Checking on the App there's on update on the order still shows as processing.

So not sure if its a cancelation or he's found one in another one in a  dealership showroom and he's getting that bought over  ( if that's the case I will need to renegotiate my deal )

So Gave him a call today saying if the cars not going to be ready to collect till August  can he hold on till  September to register , His answer was they have to register all cars within 20 days of receiving them from Toyota, and if I didn't take this car I would go back to the end of the wait list.

As my order on the website hasn't changed I'm thinking he's trying to pull a fast one.

Any thoughts ? is there a way to see when the car was built if i get the VIN number.

If I remember correctly the vin number doesn’t appear on the app until the cars at the dealership.

At the moment I have nothing on the app apart from order processing been like that for about 2 weeks,

Just shocked that he's managed to get a car so quick.
