Car carrier with 2 000 cars on board.

Transporting cars from Germany to Egypt.

I've actually heard that there are already several companies that refuse to transport EVs, I'm not sure if thats like these car carriers or more like commercial stuff, like people on board with their cars. But it does make sense, putting out a fire from an electric car is very challening and its very hard to even do it on land, let alone on a cruise ship.

Just a updated

After dealer advising car would arrive at the dealership on 25th July  it was changed to the 27th  .

Just had a call saying he  is not sure when the car will arrive as there seems to be issues getting cars delivered from derby.

Back to wait and see Toyota App still showing car as processing

Not long ago, many cars were taking a year and some models disappeared altogether.

When I was ordering mine, the ETA the website builder gave varied from 1 month to 6 months, depending on selected trim and other goodies. Most things had an ETA of 4 months, but basic trim in white could be had in a month according to the site.

Yeah good question. I’ve not spoken to the dealer since so keeping an open mind at the moment. As soon as I find out more I’ll post an update. I understand they are ‘waiting for the paperwork’ at the moment - have no further info or indeed a date at the moment. I did have a Toyota car insurance quote through via the dealer though obviously haven’t done anything with it. Quote seemed pretty competitive for what it’s worth

So picked up the car today. Yaris cross excel in white standard. Just about 6 weeks then from order date.

Mine is moving along. Now "In transit - Malmö". Weirdly though the timelines arnt quite lining up. The last ship from Malmö departured 3 days ago and actually arrived in Hanko around the same time the "In transit Malmö" appeared. But im not optimistic enough that it wouldve arrived on that ship today. But it's a weird "middle of nowhere" time for the tracking about Malmö to happen now otherwise.

Next ships from Malmö to Hanko, Finland are on 6th and 13th, so maybe one of them? Here's hoping.

They sometimes go a bit crazy during movements but the main thing is, it’s getting closer to you.

Reading this 60 page thread on a local forum that spans like 5 years, apparently the way it works is that it did indeed land here in Finland yesterday (if Toyota hasnt changed the tracking/logistics drastically). Still about week usually before it's at the dealer though.

There are times when it simply does not update properly for every order, but also that it has it's own logic. Im not sure what the english translation is, but maybe "In transit". So when it says for example "In Transit - Zeebrugge" it means it has already left Zeebrugge, not on the way there. So for me it's saying right now "In Transit - Malmö" and since the last ship left Malmö 3 days and it's less than a 3 day trip from Malmö to Hanko, with that logic my car should be in Hanko too. However I know some fellow finns have had their MyToyotas update with Hanko, but maybe they've been in Finland longer and have already left Hanko too towards the dealer, who knows.

I guess a week or two for me anyways 😄

It appears so. App still said processing order. I went into the dealer on Weds to ask if there was any update as the app still said processing order? according do the dealer system it is due in the country today and as of 1st thing this morning still processing?!

Edit Just checked the app and its gone from processing order straight through to in transit, Derbyshire and on its way to dealer. I know they build them quickly but from build to the boat and, on way to dealer in 2hours is strecthing it a bit🤐

The app tracking is still working fine for.. most? But every now and then people notice that their tracking for whatever reason isnt working, while it may be sharing a boat with hundreds of car who's tracking actually works.

So it's not a case of Toyota stopped updating it completely, but for whatever reason some individual orders get left behind on tracking

Update to my previous post I will be picking up my YC next Friday the Dealer just phoned. And before anyone asks I was given a suitable financial inducement to take it on a 23plate and for delays in the delivery.

Kev.

My dealer claimed mine was going to be in on the 3rd August, but on the app it shows still on order not even being manufactured.

Thats what the app said for mine. Dealer said arriving in the country on the 4th Aug, still said order processing. Then later on Fri4 the app went from order processing straight through to in transist from Derby! Then later that day a call from the Dealer they've bumped the PDI because of the wait i've had and would I like to pick it up next Fri 11th.

We’ve  managed to get two being delivered next month. Long story, but we have a spare Excel with City, Pano Roof, SUV pack,  and JBL in white. The missus changed her mind once we got told there were significant delays on Pano roof and JBL so ordered a Red one without as she prefers the colour. Just been told they are both arriving early September. 🤔

Over our !Removed! local roads its a bit bumpy/hard, for motorway driving its absolutely fine. I am coming from a Hyundai i30 crdi Bluedrive that was lowered for 'efficiency' and I would say the Yaris X (Excel) is a smoother drive, but its also a newer car so I'm probably not the best person to ask 😄

Seconded! A lot of us early Mk4 owners found the dealerships hadn't fully completed the PDI, and the tyres are still at transport and storage pressures (Mine were about 60PSI!! )
