My basic Design spec had the wires and plugs.

That will make me disassemble it to check it out.

You've added the original Toyota bulbs? I imagine they're similar to the footwells ones or am I wrong?

Those are on my AliExpress wishlist. If they fit the door handles I'll buy them (there's no hole for them, though). For the Centre Console I'm quite tempted to add one, connecting it to the 12V 120W cigarette lighter type outlet poles

You’ve lost me.  I had a Yaris Mk4 Design and it had the wires but they were too expensive as I knew my Cross was coming.   I’ve changed the interior light bulbs to LED on my Cross.  Does that answer your question?

Sorry ☺️. I thought you've added the door handle LED to your Yaris Mk4 Design, and was asking what kind of bulbs you've used. The interior lights I'll also change it for proper LED (did it on my Corolla TS and it's much better).

If you do, make sure you fuse them correctly, i would double-check the passenger side footwell the loom can be tucked up or even taped up

Any 1Amp fuse will do? I'm thinking of 1A x 12V = 12W the lamps are 5W so if they meltdown the fuse will cut the current when it reaches 1A. Not very experienced with this kind of protection.

1-2 amp should be right, automotive fuses are usually underrated by 15-20%, so they are not a quick blow, LEDs are rated at peak voltage

Completed this on my Mum's excel recently, from my checks it would appear that Dynamic, Excel & Launch editions in the UK all share the same Dash wiring harness so as mentioned above the plugs are all there for the 5 dash led ( Footwell x 4 & centre cubby ) the door harnesses do vary and wiring for door handle led are only present on UK Launch edition. The Toyota part number for the led is 81080-33280 ( for all positions )

We did manage to wire the doors ordering:

2 x led as above

2 x led harness plug 90980-11918

4x led harness wire with terminal 500mm 82998-74060 ( these insert into the plug above )

we ran the wires through the door harness grommet and connected to the dash harness where it meets the door harness pins 3 & 18.

Do you have some scheme for the door harness pins? I got kind of lost but really would like to install these on the Mrs.' Yaris

Take the door panel off and look properly.

I did it. And there's no extra harness for the door LEDs.

We have the branch for the power windows switch, another for the exterior mirror, other for the door lock and the last for the speaker.

Opening it I've noticed that the handle recess does have a place to fit the LED, though. The question now is where should I connect them? To the window switch?

Checked the Speakers and they're Pioneer but probably the cheapest (all plastic) from their lineup (4 Ohm).IMG20230507194958.thumb.jpg.0705717f5386335be1d311ad0e9d11cd.jpgIMG20230507195624.thumb.jpg.274b2f095eafe321d1cee0f3316cbf34.jpg

Can’t quite tell what I’m looking at in your photo but here’s mine and I’ve marked the bulb holder so if you zoom in you can also see the hole.  I’ll also add a photo of the wiring loom on mine.

The LED hole I found it. Unfortunately the wiring is different and I don't have that extra wire on mine.

Trying to be more assertive this time ☺️ It's the passenger door of a LHD Yaris245700101_IMG202305071956242.thumb.jpg.16ab46ae3e9fbc525cee972d2db2c008.jpg

The extra wires only exists if the car came from the factory with LED in the doors, per my post you need the two connectors and 4 wires, these connect to pins 3 & 18 on the connector between door and dash harness.

I opened it to understand better what runs where. That connector between the door and dash harness is located on the dash side of the ribbed rubber tube that protects the wires?

The door wiring passes through the rubber into the car, it then plugs into the harness behind the kick panel

(this is a mk3 just an example of location)

2 of those (with terminals) to connect to the LEDs Screenshot_2023-05-08-22-45-29-46_57e717c094f371a1dada6567a1123b99.thumb.jpg.9fc6ab111356f81d80bfbefde3373b12.jpg

And enough wire to feed it from the dash panel. I guess I will need extra terminals for this end too.

That's not tough. Well maybe the part of opening the kick panel isn't that simple. I wonder if I use the opportunity to change the stock front Speakers.

I considered changing the Speakers but somebody said that solid cone is better than a regular cone and I must admit, I can turn it up uncomfortably loud without distorting.

A stiffer cone does produce a better sound, more powerful and articulate (think of the vintage Monitor Audio Studio 20SE with their alloy cones). But the units that come with the Yaris, although better than the ones that came with my Corolla (!), are full range which could be great if they delivered enough treble and bass. I found the midrange and bass a bit muddy and miss some extra highs. I guess any 2-way coax speaker under 100£/€ will deliver a more articulate and higher definition sound.

I never changed the Speakers of any car before, but the silent hybrid environment made me changed the Corolla's and think of change the Yaris' too.

Today I've opened it and took some pictures, trying to find out where should I connect the wires to the door LEDs IMG20230521171847.thumb.jpg.028928c2232ca247ef4c122327a3ef04.jpgIMG20230521171538.thumb.jpg.755bc69991c63fbf6325ac265bf097e8.jpg

Only the blue plug and the white plug under the yellow one have lots of pins. Which one should I use for the door LEDs?

The door loom comes in at the top, then splits into 3 or 4. Yellow plugs are airbag related, Do not touch

I was just explaining how the wires are routed

do you want them on all the time the car is on or just when your headlights are on

I think I prefer they're on when the headlights are on.
