I'v got a 1.8 GS Avensis.

I would like to get a (Haynes type) manual, but can't find one in print yet, any idea's?

I want to fit some rear brake shoes, how does the the brake (abs) system de-pressurise ?

Also, I need to replace a bulb in the dash; bit concerned about air bag in steering wheel. How to disengage? I don't wan't it going off!

Any particular problem with doing the cam belt? I've done a twin cam Corrola before and that wasn't a problem. How does this compare?

Thanks for any help.

 ARE YOU SURE THAT YOU HAVE A CAM BELT AND NOT A CHAIN DRIVE JOBBY?

Check car manual ............... I think that it says that our 1.8 Avensis does not need a cam-belt change!

Cant help you with the rest sorry!

The VVT-i engines ones are chain, the earlier non VVT-i ones are belt driven.

The best you can get Haynes manual wise is one for the CarinaE which used the same engines, yours I believe is the 7A-FE.
