Prop Shaft Universal Joint For A 2.5tt R Supra

Hi, guys, gals. I've got a wee bit of a problem. My bro's 92 Mk3 Supra (2.5TT R) propshaft universal joints is about to die. Its tightened up that its causing the propshaft to vibrate and hit the underside of the car.

At the diff end the prop shaft has 2 universal joint suspended by a rubber housing. Both joints bearing are on their way out. We have freed them up a bit by re-greasing them but I suspect the problem will come back shortly.

We got a replacement from Toyota (the only joint listed on their schematics) but the joint is too big. It isn't the same part. The joint is not shared with either the Soarer 2.5 TT or the 3.0L Turbo.

Can anyone please help?

It would be a same to scrap the car because of this......

P.S. Toyota are being great, They are trying to get as much info and source the part but we do not have a part number so it may be difficult.

Ideas?????

1992 Mk3 Supra.

hmmmmmmmmm..... and the part Toyota ordered although listed for your Supra was wrong?

Is it a UK spec or Jap spec? May be worth trying to get hold of a parts list in Japan if at all possible. Other alternatives are to speak to importers here in the UK who may be able to source the parts for you or at least know of some contacts.

I'll also speak to a contact I have within Toyota to see what he can come up with....

Sorry I can't be of any further help - but I will post if I come up with anything...

Zee.

Try Toyota Celica Breakers, info all over forum but cant remember where !!

They are normally execellent and would imagine they will find the part for you if they dont have it themselves, always been very knowledgable from my experiences with them and had good feedback from everyone else who used them.

If not try Fensport saying it needs these parts and see what they can do... (numbers also somewhere on forum)

Sorted! He had to buy the whole propshaft and joint from a 3.0L Turbo Scrappy today.

Its was a straight bolt on. The joint is different but the flange was identical so it bolts straight on.

Cheers Mate! I can't thankyou enough for you help.

Many Thanks
