If the gearbox has sufficient oil within then yes, oil will leak when the driveshafts are removed. Have you not replaced the clutch yet?

Okay thanks, It's been so long since I did a clutch I couldn't remember lol. No haven't done the clutch yet, I am hoping to crack on with it this week...

Yes oil will leak out so drain it first and after replacing driveshaft fill up with new gear oil until it drips out of the high level plug.
