Weird because my last PHEV SUV didnt and that was delivered new in September 2020. 3008 hybrid4 GT 300.

The Type Approval would probably have been prior to July 2019, in which case Stellantis wouldn't have been required to fit AVAS until July 2021. Some manufacturers fitted AVAS well before they were legally obliged to.

Oh ok, so type approval in my last cars case was before the date in question so they didn't need to comply in Aug or Sept 2020 when I got it delivered.

What they did do was to make the already loud turbo charged ICE even louder by putting a loud simulated V6 sound into the cabin whenever sport mode was selected. That was especially bizarre. So no pedestrian warning but an annoying artificial engine sound on top of the already uncivilized ICE noise. I think they were trying to stop people using sport mode for some reason.
