Hi there

As others have said in this forum, when Android Auto is connected and there is a phone call, the caller can hear me, but I cannot hear them.

It can sometimes by reconnected by testing things, but these is ever so slightly dangerous when you are driving!

Will a software update help?

Thanks

Tom.

that is current firmware

I don't think there is a straightforward answer to that issue, apart from try with bluetooth turned off, and checking the setting on your phone and the connection methods used

Hi there,

I also have issues with the call output on Android Auto while it plays music on my Aygo Connect MY20. I usually connect my phone (Samsung A52s 5G) by using a USB cable.

People can hear me fine but I can't hear them back. In order to make it work correctly, I first have to pause the music and then call, but it obviously doesn't solve the issue in case of incoming calls.

Instead, music gets paused and calls can be heard correctly while the mobile is connected via bluetooth without Auto.

I tried everything, from unpairing and pairing again, to connecting via bluetooth before attaching the cable, but nothing worked.

The software version is the one shown in the attached picture and it's a bit different from the versions I've seen here so far. Any ideas please?

Oh, I forgot to mention that I tried Auto with my phone on a Yaris from this year and it worked fine via USB cable.

A (pretty annoying) workaround would be to ask the caller to hold on a moment and then switch the call output to hand-free and then switch back again to bluetooth during the call.

In that case it works.

That is current firmware, there are a few variations on firmware you tend to see that one on late cars

the triple play in the Aygo is built by Pioneer and the touch2 in the Yaris is made by Fujitsu/Denso Ten

Thanks for your reply @flash22

So, I have to guess that the reasons behind this issue are different from the ones that others had with previous software versions?

Anyway, do you think that reporting this bug to Toyota would solve anything?

Reporting it will not help as it is an EOL product

8.12 will probably be the last downloadable update

Good Lord, it's such a shame that they stop supporting a product after such a short time from the end of production. After all, I only bought this car at the end of 2020.

If this bug becomes unbearable, I guess I'll have to start looking for a good replacement for this poor audio system that won't cost me a kidney.

Oh well, at least I tried, thank you very much for all the information @flash22 .

well you end up going in circles, pioneer offers no support for OEM products - Toyota will blame the phone manufacturers, and they will tell you it is a Google problem, google will tell you to go back to your phone manufacturer, and they send you back to Toyota

there are known issues with later Samsung S series phones
