Corolla e90 modification?

Hi, will become owner of Corolla e90 these days - its in family for 30 years and my wife's grandad just didnt want to get rid of it so... Its 1.3l 55kw, 1991 (48.000km), question is if it makes sense to do som small performance mods to it and use it time to time as weekend ride. Didnt find any performance filters or parts yet so maybe someone can point me where to look or what to do with it? My plan is to restore it little bit and in 1y to sell it... Thanks
