Cam timing gear width mk1 1974 Toyota Hiace

I ordered a "new genuine toyota part" timing gear. 13523-31011 It took ages for me to work out why it was not fitting fully on. Turns out it is 5mm wider than the original. I've manged to get the cover on with some help from an angle grinder. Hopefully that'll be ok. Anyone had this issue? Is there another part for a Mk1 Hiace?
