Footwell question

Odd question to ask but I have recently bought a verso icon 2017 petrol 1.6.  It is running nicely but I noticed the other day that the footwells in the front are quite uneven, like I can feel the shape of the bodywork underneath. I just wondered if this is normal?! Any reassurance appreciated. Many thanks!

A piece of underfelt should help sort the problem OR a car mat on top. Must admit I prefer rubber car mats, easier to keep clean.

Thank you for your replies - good to know this is normal! I have ordered some car mats already (maybe should have gone for rubber in retrospect!) in an effort to look after this car better than the last!
