Toyota free puncture repair.... what a farce!

My 11 month old Corolla TS had a TPWS warning light on & investigation found a small nail in one of the rear wheels causing a slow leak. Called the local Toyota agent where I bought it from to claim my free puncture repair (Arnold Clark , Bishopbriggs, Glasgow) . After a 3 hour wait on a call back from their service dept. I was told it would be Thursday next week before it could be done! I tried to explain that the car did not come with a spare for me to run about in..... their answer was get it fixed elsewhere .... Mod edit!

I am sure there will be an override that says “time/resources permitting”.  It’s just like the free car wash. I have had it offered when my car in for service, but not every time. If they have time they will do it. So, they not your regular tyre garage nor car wash, but they will when time available.

I took my car in for a safety recall.  When I picked it up, I was proudly informed that they had hoovered my car.

They surely didn't have to do much hoovering as I had just done it before taking it in.

What he didn't tell me was that, they had either knocked off or forgot to replace a plastic shroud from the passenger seat runner.

Tbh Bishopbriggs are nrmally pretty good but like everyone else are still operating under some Covid restrictions.

& as I have just posted on another thread whilst Toyota dealers are meant to offer free puncture repairs that doesn't mean that you will get it there & then - they aren't going to switch someone from working on a car that was booked in for a service to work on your tyre.

Whilst we may all hate them if it is a slow leak then the tyre repair kit would probably work , you just keep topping the tyre up or if you had needed to call Toyota Roadside Assistance they would almost certainly have had an universal spare https://www.theaa.com/about-us/newsroom/innovation-and-technology/aa-multi-fit-wheel

Sorry but lol, you get a puncture you go and get it fixed, tyres are a consumable, most places do them under £15, my local tire shop i use and recommend did my last one FOC but i put a £5 in the "tea fund"

Nothing in life is free, I bet they upsell plenty of tyres as that "can't" be repaired

I had a puncture on my daughters Aygo and had the same issue getting the car booked in at Toyota for free repair due to garage having people off due to COVID. Got it fixed elsewhere at a cost,  just one of those things

The reason I got was they were to busy prepping new reg sales for delivery.

Free or not, they shouldn't be advertising a service if they aren't prepared to provide it.

It's not a very good advert for their business or for Toyota. It would deter me from using that establishment.

Yeah the 'free' puncture repair is a joke - The one time I tried to use it they told me I had to book it in advance and there was a 2 week lead time. I tried to explain that it's a puncture, it's not like a dodgy wiper blade or something - It needs to be fixed ASAP! Literally didn't give a flying one. And this was well before covid - Covid is just a conveniently plausible excuse for poor customer service. This is the problem with my dealers - They just literally don't care. At all. They make me feel like I'm just an annoyance to them whenever I deal with them. You'd think laying down over 20k on a new car would have improved things but nope, still an inconvenience to them. But I've already spoken at length about about how terrible the London dealers are compared to the northerner ones!

Use a different dealer. In Essex I won’t use my 2 closest as they are seerap. I’d rather drive 60 miles to a decent dealer.
