Overly sensitive accelerator (2016)

I've just bought a 2016 Yaris which is fine, but I've noticed that the accelerator is extremely sensitive at low revs which makes it an exercise of extreme concentration when trying to drive at low speed in traffic, or when trying to do hill starts.

Is this likely to be something that a mechanic would be able to tweak somehow, or is it a case of "it is what it is"?

Cheers,

Steve.

Hi Steve,

is your a hybrid or standard ice? Have you checked the drive mode if you have options to select different drive modes then if the car is set in power mode makes the accelerator pedal very sensitive and promote faster and more spirited driving, best to stick in normal mode or even in eco if you are new to the car. If you car has no selection of driving modes then it is how it is and most likely no option for adjusting the throttle response. Best if you,can share some more information about your car and looking into your cars manual.
Regards 👍

It's a base-model 1.3L GX. As far as I'm aware there's no provision for any different drive modes beyond the multiple engine-braking levels (which was a new one to me!)
