They handle like go-karts anyway.

They're close to, but not as agile as, a 'real' (original not BMW) Mini - I owned 2 of them in the mid 1970's.

I found that fitting 195 tyres compared to the original 155 ones made a considerable difference to cornering grip and speeds.

The handling can be improved, just by going to poly bushes tightens up most cars, uprated shocks and a proper alignment with decent tires then move on to disc's and pads

If you can have confidence in the car and make it predictable you can push into corners faster and make your transitions faster, remember brake before a corner and never add power till you're sure you don't need to lift it's all about smoothness

There is only one car that handles like a go-kart and that's a Classic mini - Mine was a 1980 1098cc Clubman - if you have never driven one, add it to your bucket list

Yeah, not like the modern minis, which are like the anti-***** to the original mini!

It reminds me, we had a few people on here (Ant182, PaulT, janey) who took part in the Toyota Sprint Series - Ant and janey had Mk1 Yarisususieises IIRC, but PaulT had an Aygo and it was pretty crazy - He'd removed the back seats, put in stiffer ARBs and strut braces. It was so stiff it'd ***** a leg going round a corner at speed like the pre-monobrow Honda Civics

He put a lot of money in that car - Even got some Rays Engineering forged ally wheels - I bought his old Aygo wheels off him for my Yaris (Back then Toyota had really bad QC on the Yaris alloys and the paint was extremely prone to flaking off in massive chunks due to corrosion!), and the difference in weight was surprising! The Rays you could lift with a finger... wouldn't do that with the stock ones unless you wanted a dislocated finger

Given they cost nearly as much as my 2nd Yaris when I bought it, you'd hope there was a significant benefit for that kind of money!!

You only have to see the CityCar cup races to see what an Aygo can do (MK1) the chassis is virtually unchanged on the MK2
