Touch up sticks for stone chips ?

I need to touch up some stone chips on the bonnet of my Rav to protect it from the coming winter months.

Apart from the one from Toyota, can anyone recommend an alternative  ?

There are some genuine ones for sale on eBay, but looking at the end dates on the box, they are already out of date.

The one in the photo is the one I have, which has been used previously, but has all dried up.

I got one from eBay, it was as cheap as chips.  I’ve had it for a couple of years and, it’s still like new.  The colour is a good match, too.

the genuine Toyota ones should be £11.99 for the 2 pack (colour & clear)

are you sure? Thought that there was a £5.99 delivery charge?

I haven't went all the way to check out, so maybe there is a delivery charge.  I'll pop into my local Toyota Dealer and see what they charge.

Delivery charges - don't get me started! We are constantly asked to price match internet suppliers. When we say not to forget the carriage charges they blithely say free to UK mainland. One supplier (London based) says this, but if you progress the order to Postcode it then states that you have an EXOTIC postcode location!!

EXOTIC? I know the Highlands are beautiful but EXOTIC? And then they slap on £20 carriage - wonder how many just accept it?

😂

My attempt to purchase was PLUS £5.99 for delivery. No thanks, I'll go to the dealer.

I’ve just noticed I have a small chip in the roof not seen from the ground but obvious when I was fitting the roof bars. I ordered for a supplier I’ve used before on eBay. Luckily for me it’s just a top surface chip and I can see the red and white layers underneath, nit down to the metal. Cause, a lump of something flying down the motorway I heard the thump but could not see where it had hit until now. I seem to find the motorway a good place to pick up flying objects the worst being half of a brick caught between the rear tyres of a lorry which I did not see until it let loose and hit the windscreen. We stopped at the next services to access the damage  only for a few minutes  and also to change my underwear we managed to get home.

That is a bad memory.!!!!  I had half a brick from between the rear tyres of a lorry years ago. Landed between me and the passenger. What a mess but we were very lucky

regards Terry

Just - 15 miles north-west of Inverness (although I work in Inverness). A long time ago I was an After-sales manager with Parks (Nissan dealership in Hamilton and then we moved the dealership to Coatbridge - my mate was the After-sales manager with the BMW dealership round the corner).

They had the worst pay in the trade - thankfully it was not a long term position.

Ironically Parks are now my local dealer - good staff though.

It’s a scary experience to be honest and the fact is when it happens you can see it all the way but there’s nothing you can do.

Different car and can't find it now, but I got a pair of water based paint pencils, hard point not brush, from the USA via eBay.  Really easy to use.

Wish I could find them for my Corolla.

Found similar on eBay from Lithuania :

Brand new
£10.79
Buy it now
+ £3.59 postage
from Lithuania
