I'm in the UK but not sure when the MOT will bring in this for testing .a buddy of mine had 2 get his dpf done away with and mapped out in one of those nissan jeepy kinda things .good job. I never a big fan of it but I know for sure as soon as I do away with that dpf I'd be the 1st to not pas mot for it

The worry is very very understandable to be fair,my dad has a 09 b6 2.0 tdi passat he got his dpf taken out and mapped, passed NCT with flying colours,my friend who has a 07 520D e60 bmw, also passed NCT not a bother,is your dpf causing issues?

Hello again everyone, apologies for bringing up an old topic, just said id let everyone know that i managed to solve the issue with the car and I'm really hoping it helps someone else if they are having a similar or the same issue..

So,brought the car to the mechanic a while ago and got it back yesterday, with the whole blowing bluish/greyish smoke issue coming out every so often with not even a lil burp of oil other than the usual manufacturer oil burn happening,i was told that the turbo seals were starting to get worse and worse so opted to have that done with a 2nd hand turbo(they are hard to come by new🙈) so keep an ear out for unusual noises or whining coming from the turbo as they are common on this type Avensis to fail, now im no mechanic whatsoever but as i previously stated before on this thread i was very suspicious the DPF had or was ready to throw in the towel, low and behold mechanic told me the DPF was in fact quite cheesed, told me the inner honeycomb like structure was covered in oil, made sense that turbo seals were leaking,****** oil onto the DPF therefore heating it up and burning it off hence the blue/greyish smoke,so i opted to do a DPF delete and map the software out, yeah yeah i know NCT/MOT failure is possible but not everyone can afford a new DPF given the fact, well here in Ireland they cost upwards of about 7-800 euro,as for the 5th injector that can be bypassed, and i can now confirm my issue is resolved!!! Just want to say thank you very very much to everyone on here who has given me advice and help,it means a lot👌🏻👌🏻now obviously i don't recommend everyone goes out and does a DPF delete but it is an option

Hope this helps guys,

Peace out✌🏻

Thanks for posting this, always good to have solutions posted, very helpful. I have a whirring noise in my turbo as well and see the odd blast of white smoke in the rear view on acceleration from stop mainly. Haven't noticed it being blue though. Where did you pick up a secondhand turbo? Was it not possible to do the seals in your existing one? I also have injector problems, had a P062D in December a few times for injector 1 but it went away and hasn't returned since, however, I feel it's running a bit rough so I'll need to take care of it. 1500e for all 4 is eye watering so might just be going with the one. 146k km
