Turbo noise

I've been getting this turbo noise, so thought time to replace it, although it got a bit too much for me after the 2 nuts on bottom outlet are just so friggin arkward to get to with everything else around them. Someone said it might be an airleak but I'm thinking it sounds mechanical whirr ?

I've unplugged the vacuum thin pipe from the turbo as it was making the whining noise, I thought at first a cop car was coming , that sort of noise, acceleration has dropped but is it going to damage anything?
