Hi all thinking of buying a Auris sr 1.6 was wondering are they timing chains or belts? Anything will help haha thanks

Tbh I don't know much about the Auris as a whole per se, more the bits that are shared with the Avensis. Which transmission?

After since they switched from VVTI to Valvematic, Auris developed issues with valvematic controller.

Simple fix (just replace controller), but very expensive, even with 2nd hand.

I think this was sorted some mid 2012, after that it's not that common. Should keep that in mind.
