Can anywone help me with turning that annoying sound off ?  I am working on it to find the place of the buzzer but it is so hard to find.  Is there a tip maybe? Does anyone know where iit's settled and is it nescesarry to diconnect the whole dahboard for it? Or is there another way , f.e. disconnecting something?

tnx in advance.

It sounds when the carkey is still in it's lock (don't know the word for that part in English :-).   So when the engine is turned of, it sounds emediately. When pulling the key out, it stops. I think to not forget the key.  But I think it's useless and VERY annoying.

Do your interior lights work correctly ? eg. come on when you open the door

As Bob suggests - I believe that the buzzer should not sound until you open the drivers door - as you say, to warn you to take your keys with you. But if the door open/closed sensor is not working correctly it may believe that the door is open and sound immediately. So, "do your interior lights work correctly ? i.e. come on when you open the door" and go off again when you close it?

tnx for the tip.  sounds logical.  i'll go out and look for it.  But still I would like to disable it completely.  Sometimes I have to go in and out the car (I do have a boat on a trailer behind it) and then the doors are constantely open with bringing the boat in the water.  But I'll look first.

I checked and indeed when the door is closed, it stops making sound. So at least there's a workaround possible now with ducttape :-).   I also found out that the buzzer is somewhere behind the km and rpm teller, so behind the dashboard so to say.  Im wondering if I should go on now and disassemble the whole clockwork.

btw, what a great car this Rav4.  It is from 2000 so the latest from this production. I also had a new Auris but to be honoust, this is a lot more driving.  Not for daily busey roads offcourse, but still.

So, in a lot of words, tnx for the help. The workaround is clear. I still don't know where the buzzer is located, so if you have any information about that, then it's very welcome still.
