Dash cam wiring & hi

Surrey C-HR

Recommended Posts

Hi, firstly I would like to say hi.

All being well I am picking up my 67 plate Nebula blue Dynamic on Saturday. Will be bit of a change from the manual BMW M140i it is replacing. Will certainly be more relaxing, comfortable & economical!

First job will be wiring in my dash cam. Any pointers as to where to pickup up an ignition or accessory feed?

Many thanks

Andy

Hi Andy,

I paid someone to fit our Dashcam in the C-HR, but watched how they did it. They ran the cable down behind the A pillar trim on the passenger side and into the fusebox below the glovebox, then used a piggyback fuseholder onto the fuse which supplies the steering lock & immobiliser.

I used the fuse slot rated at 15amp that is used for the power outlet in the centre armrest.

This is located in passenger side footwell.

Used a breakout fuse.

Earth was a ring terminal under a 10mm nut above fuse box.

I also have a rear camera, so ran lead under trim to tailgate and through right hand cable grommet as it was empty.

Easiest dash cam install I’ve ever done.
