Knocking/clicking On Corolla Verso Front

Corolla Verso (petrol) 2002, 50,000 miles. For the last 5,000 miles i've noticed a knocking/clicking noise when i'm pulling out of a junction under acceleration, left or right. The noise is coming from the front drive around the wheels. I can only describe it as sounding similar to a CV joint problem which I had on an old mini.

The car has been into a franchised dealer 3 times, carried out work on the discs and greased the driveshaft, to no avail. They have said it is safe to drive but I fail to have confidence in their advice when they can't identify the problem.

Anybody got any ideas? :help:

Cheers for that. I've had it back to the garage today, for the fifth time!!. They are now also of the opinion that it is the CV joints, as I told them I thought it might be initially. They earlier dismissed this suggestion as they'd never heard of it before on a Verso - obviously there has to be a first.

I am concerned that as his last post was in 2004 he may not still read this forum ...HELP!!!! How else can I contact him???

had the same problem with a 03 verso 1.6 petrol. garage looked at it and the mechanic was amazed because

1 both front cv joints were gone

2 the rubber boot was perfectly intact

3 only 60000 miles on the clock

he said that cv joints usually only go when the boot cracks and lets out the grease

but these had gone with the boots intact

he guessed that the quality was just not in the parts

had both replaced and now all is well

except that the engine light keeps coming on

have changed the o2 sensor but still a problem

any ideas
