I’ve just changed the wing mirror indicators for a dynamic sequential type.  They are black/smoke rather than clear but still give a good light that can been seen from the front of the car unlike the OEM ones. Obviously I’ve not tried these when it’s dark but I’m pleased with the result.  At the same time I replaced the puddle light bulbs for LED, brighter than the ones I’d used for the internal lights, but still the T10 W5W type.  I can not test these until it’s dark.

The first side took me about 15mins of cautious endeavour but the second side only about 5mins.  I’ve seen a few YouTubes that suggest taking the top cover off from the window side but the one I followed was from the outside, a firm pull but being careful, remove two screws and release a sprung clip and you can remove the indicator.  Once that’s been removed the puddle light holder can be seen and removed with a turn, it’s in at an angle which is probably why the fitted halogen bulb is so poor. It’s a bit of a fiddle to get it out but I did not want to remove the the bottom cover and frankly I’m not sure how much easier it would have been.

Cool.

Did you need any special tools?

One small plastic lever, supplied, and a cross head screw driver. As I said I do like the all black look but each to their own I guess not every bodies taste. As the car is a keeper I’m happy to do a few of these cosmetic mods, my wife likes the new look wing mirrors and the sequential light.

These are the LED’s I bought for the puddle lights I’ll probably change the one in the boot as they are brighter.

Impressive. Miles better.

Prefer black.

Also hate chrome.

I have to agree relatively simple changes.

The puddle lights now really work and whilst the wing mirrors are folder they still manage to hit the ground. When we are in Derbyshire our base is dark, very dark and the puddle lights are an important feature.

Look forward to installing that mod on mine when it arrives. Same colour/spec too.

Adrian, easy enough to do but a bit scary until you get you head around it.  I found this short Youtube one of the most useful, the PHEV has a lot more cables and stuff going on but this does not affect the changeover process.
