Hello Toyota people,

I've never been much interested in cars - generally buy one that's a few years old and run it into the ground and give it to the Fire Brigade to play with.

But t'missus said I had to get something less harmful to the planet, so I've just bought a 2018 Yaris - the green slip says Yaris Icon Hybrid VVT-I CVT, and I look forward to finding out what these letters mean.

If you folks don't mind, I'll probably ask a few kindergarten questions about what this tiny TV screen in the middle of the dash can do - I've managed to get Radio 3 so I know that it's a wireless, but it might do other stuff too.

Welcome to the forum Vin. VVT means variable valve timing, CVT means continuously variable transmission. Is there a handbook with the car that should explain what and how everything works.
